As I sit here holding my one month old baby girl and watching my husband play with our son outside, it occurred to me that Mother’s Day is just a week away.
I had originally planned to just write a new blog on the birth of my daughter and show a few pictures I have taken of her at home. But I changed my mind.
Being a mother of one is hard enough, but being a mother of more than one is even harder. Especially when you have two under the age of two. I constantly see my friends who are moms share stories of their kids and their daily struggles on social media, and I see how hard they work everyday. Studies show that being a mom is like having two and a half jobs. There are some days that you think will never end, and most likely some nights too. But there are moments where you realize that having children is completely worth it and nothing else gives you that amazing feeling.
It was difficult for us to get pregnant the first time, only to end up with a miscarriage. It was devastating for us, but I knew God had a plan. To those women out there who are trying, God has a plan for you too. It may not be what you envision, but it’s his plan, not yours.
God gave us two gorgeous children, and I am forever grateful and happy he chose to bless us.
So to the women who desperately want and are never giving up trying for a child and to those who are mothers who sacrifice for their children everyday, just know YOU ARE ENOUGH. Don’t compare yourself to someone else’s life or how they are doing things. You know your strengths and weaknesses. If your day consists of just keeping your children fed and alive, then that’s a good day.
You are great women and great mothers. Never stop believing in yourself.
I always enjoy taking pictures of people and their children in their homes. If you are expecting a new member of your family, let me capture those moments for you! Click on the “contact” page and let’s chat about setting up a session!
