After having the privilege of taking their engagement pictures in September, I was excited to shoot Katy and Danny's wedding! She was in school for practical nursing and working as a patient care tech at a local hospital in 2012 when Danny came in and she attended to him. From then, they had a first date, and as they say, the rest was history.
The couple decided on the Fillauer Lake House in Cleveland, Tennessee for their ceremony and reception location. And as one might expect, it was a cold and wet day for their wedding in November. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we were forced to move the bride's pictures inside, but we were lucky to get some outdoor group pictures during the reception.. The bride and her attendants got ready in the upstairs floor of the main house while the men got ready in the basement, as they planned not to see each other before the ceremony.
While the bride and groom were getting ready and having separate pictures made in the main house, they exchanged letters to each other. Since the rain did not let up, the ceremony was moved to the barn. During the reception, the bride and groom enjoyed cutting the cake and made the atmosphere fun by providing sunglasses and beads for everyone to wear while the DJ played some awesome dance music. Some of the best moments from the night were shooting the bride's nieces and nephews as they had a good time dancing to the music.
The bride and groom left the reception at the end of the night, guided by a sparkler exit and were whisked away in an old Rolls Royce (did I mention I love classic cars!).
Even though it rained all day, this didn't damper the festivities and the bride and groom had a wonderful ceremony. I was so blessed to shoot such an amazing couple and their families, and I know they will share a beautiful life together.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
