Hailey | Sweet Sixteen | Cleveland TN Photographer

Hailey’s grandmother Joyce contacted me a few months ago to set up a Sweet Sixteen photo session for her granddaughter in May. When I reached out to Jessica, Hailey’s mother, I asked her to tell me a little about her favorite music, so I could have a playlist ready just for her. Her mom replied with saying that Hailey loves to listen to The Beatles. I told her mom that we would get along just fine 🙂

As someone who also loves listening to classic rock, which of course includes The Beatles, I knew that once I met Hailey that we were going to have a lot of fun during her photo session. Even before we started shooting, I told her about getting to see Sir Paul McCartney twice in concert and even showed her videos of him singing “Love Me Do” live! We were deep in conversation about how we both wished we could go back to the 60’s when all of the great music came out, that I forgot I was there to take her pictures!

Johnston Woods is such a lovely area of Cleveland, Tennessee. I especially love their fields which make for some gorgeous spots for pictures. The sun was just starting to go behind the trees and it made for some pretty backlighting! Hailey opted for a sunflower dress and white jean jacket for her first set of photos, and then changed into some jeans, a dark maroon shirt, and black leather jacket. I love that Hailey is completely comfortable and confident in being who she is, in her own style. That is something that took me a lot longer than high school to achieve and she is already there. Hailey loves to be involved in engineering and theater and she loves that her family is supportive no matter what. They are accepting and loving, but in a crazy way. That is the best kind of love in my opinion! The way your family loves you is special and unique in its own!

Towards the end of her session, we were able to snag a few last photos in front of the lake as the sun had almost set! I can’t wait to shoot here again! Happy 16th Birthday, Hailey!
