The Harris Family was such a joy to photograph for their family session! They booked a spot for one of my fall mini sessions, and I was able to capture some adorable photos of them. Ania wanted to make sure we got some good candids and pictures of the girls smiling. It’s always fun to take pictures at the Apple Valley Orchard when the weather is just starting to turn cool, the fruit is ripe for picking, and the sun is peeking through the trees. There always seems to be a nice spot at this location for family photos. Fall is my absolutely favorite time of year to shoot mini sessions!
Well, Madelyn and Nora didn’t disappoint! They were just adorable, and they loved being in front of the camera while I snapped as many photos of them as I could. One of my techniques to shooting families, especially mini sessions, is to get everyone moving to loosen them up! When the family is walking together, it keeps them moving and you can always capture natural interactions with everybody. A lot of my families want that one good photo of everyone looking at the camera. That is the photo I capture next! As we all move along during the session, I make sure to get all of the photos that the family has asked for. If we have extra time, then I like to capture any last minute photos of the kids running or sitting together on my never-fail family quilt!
I had such a great time at the Harris’ fall mini session, and I’m looking forward to watching their girls grow up and capture some more family memories for them next year!
