When Aubrey reached out from Michigan for her senior photo session, she knew she wanted to capture this milestone around downtown Chattanooga. Drawn by the city’s charm and the promise of warmer weather, she traded Michigan’s winter landscape for Tennessee’s picturesque urban setting. Our session would not just be about commemorating her final year of high school, but also about celebrating her adventurous spirit and love for a vibrant city backdrop. We hit up all the fun spots to capture Aubrey’s senior portraits in downtown Chattanooga!
Aubrey loves all that Chattanooga has to offer and visits as often as possible. She was very specific about shooting in an urban setting around the downtown area. One of the wonderful aspects of this city is that there are multiple areas for portraits in proximity to each other. You can be on the sidewalk next to tall buildings in one location and then posing next to a flower shop or an ivy-covered wall the next. This offers a variety of photos for your session but you’re not having to travel very far. Aubrey loves to have her photo taken! She doesn’t get nervous during a shoot and is ready to go after warming up for the first few minutes.
In her spare time, Aubrey enjoys weightlifting, songwriting, and playing the piano. She loves to wear oversized t-shirts every day, even when she makes a trip to the gym or with her pajamas. Aubrey mostly listens to rap music and enjoys reading books by Rebecca Yarros. Her favorite person to spend time with is her bestie, Emmy. Aubrey describes herself as kind, funny, and creative which I experienced when working with her.
I loved the outfits she chose for her senior session! Aubrey wore a white cap-sleeve eyelet dress with lace-up Nike shoes and gold jewelry, which is her favorite fashion trend. This was the perfect combination of preppy and athletic! We walked along the sidewalk in the West Village and then moved to the area near the Read House Hotel and Umbrella Alley, which is a classic Chattanooga location for photos. Aubery quickly changed clothes into a similar blue summer dress for the remainder of her session. We made a loop around the block to shoot in a few other locations before heading back to where we started.
Aubrey’s downtown Chattanooga senior session was a blast! I’m so honored that she would choose me for this important milestone before she graduates. She is planning on attending UTC in the fall so she can officially start her next chapter in Chattanooga. If you live in a colder state and want warmer weather with an urban setting for your senior portraits, please reach out soon so we can schedule a date!
