Boho Styled Shoot | Chattanooga Elopement Photographer | Fall 2020

One of the reasons photographers participate in style shoots throughout the year is to increase their content, connect with local vendors, and practice shooting when they know they can take risks and try out new things, especially if they have purchased a new camera body or lens.

As someone who loves to connect with brides and grooms for weddings and elopements, I love attending style shoots so I can work on how I want to photograph these types of sessions.

I started out getting some shots of the elopement couple in different areas near the water and in front of the floral decorated hoop, as well as taking images of the flat lay with the invitation suite and flowers. If you know me well, you know I love my classic rock. So imagine my surprise when I realized that one of the elopement models looked just like Linda Ronstadt! For a while, I felt like I was hanging out in Laurel Canyon, high above L.A., taking pictures along with Henry Diltz and listening to music in the background from Joni Mitchell and Mama Cass. Yes, I am a geek when it comes to the 60’s 🙂

I got some photos on the dock of the elopement couple as well (a few photos too of them popping open a bottle of champagne!) and then some of us took some pictures of the other model engagement couple. This couple hung out on the dock for a lot of shots, and I got some cool images of them walking along the road. Not to mention some photos with the mobile bar and both couples warmed up next to the fire eating s’mores ( I may have grabbed a few marshmallows for myself!) And of course, I couldn’t leave this shoot without getting a nature shot of the just the lake itself.
