I love living in the country! It’s quiet and relaxing sitting on our back deck watching the sunset, and since we don’t have any pets, we enjoy the cows in the pasture behind our house.
This is why I love The Coffey Barn for your wedding or event! This adorable venue is just five minutes down the road from my house and it’s close to downtown, but you still have that feeling of being secluded in the Tennessee mountains. I am excited to continue my blog post series all about wedding and event venues in Cleveland, Tennessee. This city is constantly growing and there seem to be new venues and businesses popping up all the time. Although, this isn’t the case for The Coffey Barn. They have been a Cleveland establishment for almost six years! Eric and David were kind enough to give me a complete tour of the entire venue and this location has so much to offer! It rained a bit while I was walking around, but I managed to get some nice outdoor shots of the property.
They originally built the barn on the property in 2014 to house their equipment and ended up using the space for some family events. People started to notice and asked about hosting their own events. The Coffeys opened it up the public and started renting it as a wedding and event venue in January 2015. The barn seats up to 150 people and can host both your wedding ceremony and reception in case it rains! It features lots of strung lights, white tables and chairs, and drapes across the ceiling. There is a lovely back porch, perfect for your cocktail hour, complete with more strung lights, an old amusement park ski lift chair from North Carolina, and an old washing machine, turned cooler for your fun fizzy bottled drinks or beer. It has a great view of the adjoining field with cattle. The barn boasts a full kitchen for all your catering needs and original George Dickel barrels from the distillery for your cake and reception food set-ups (this is one of my favorite features since I am a whiskey girl!).
Behind the barn you have one of two options for an outdoor ceremony with an arch and white chairs for your guests. The venue has a set of entryway colonial style doors for rent for you and your bridal party to walk through from the trail above and down the aisle. There is also another area behind the back porch, with a large field next to a red barn, if you prefer a different type of set up for your ceremony. The venue provides separate areas for the bride and groom to get ready. The bridal suite house has a full bath and kitchenette, is fully heated and air-conditioned with lots of mirrors, and is just steps away from the ceremony and reception locations. The groomsmen quarters is equipped with chairs, mirrors and full heating and air as well. Both of these areas open at 9 am in the morning on the day of your event so you have plenty of time to get ready. The Coffey Barn rents out the property at one flat rate for all day Saturday and the day before from 3-9 pm so you can come decorate tables and set up flowers. Their rental rate also includes parking attendants so your guests know where to park!
If you read my blog, you know I love all things vintage! In addition to the old washing machine used for cooling drinks and the ski lift on the back porch, the venue has a green and blue 1963 Jeep truck for photos, antiques hanging on the wall inside the large barn, and a restored truck grill with working headlights as an added decoration on the back porch. Did I also mention that the venue has a supply of extra signage and decorations for you to use that is included with your rental? That gives a nice added touch of service to all that this venue has to offer for your wedding day.
