Woo hoo, you’ve officially started your senior year of college! You’re super excited for all of the fun events and spending as much time with your friends before you graduate. Two more semesters of being a student at your university and you’re home free, walking out with that degree in hand! What could be more thrilling?
Scheduling a graduation photo session would be an amazing way to document all of your hard work! But are college graduation pictures really worth it? Even though college senior photos aren’t the most sought after session, it’s gaining in popularity. I believe they are just as important as your high school senior photos! Here are my favorite reasons why!
It’s finally time show off all that you’ve accomplished! You have worked hard, stayed up late studying for that grueling math exam and rewritten that one research paper too many times to count. Attending college has been a stressful and difficult journey, and you’re ready to take that next step in your professional career. Remind yourself that you’ve earned that degree!
You may have had a high school photo session (which I also recommend!), but you definitely don’t look the same since twelfth grade. You are older and wiser and you need professional college photos when applying for jobs after college graduation. Since a lot of employers read online applications, you need a good head shot to show your potential boss what you look like and for your LinkedIn page.
For the last four years, this college campus was your official “home away from home”. You’ve matured since high school, learned more about yourself, have made career goals for after graduation. But trust me, after you walk out with that diploma, it becomes a lot harder to come back and visit once you start a job and a family. I love any excuse to visit where I went to college and relive all of the fun times I had with my friends. Document this special time with taking photos on campus in front of all your favorite spots!
Your family wants to hear the amazing news that you’ve earned your college degree! I love receiving graduation announcements in the mail from my clients, so I know your aunts, uncles and grandparents will enjoy getting one too! They will want to hang it on the fridge so they can constantly be reminded how proud they are of you!
When I graduated from college, my mom took a photo of me wearing my cap and gown when I received my four year degree. That picture is still in a frame and it’s been sitting on her piano for over twenty years. Ordering prints, canvases and albums are great gift ideas for your family! They will be excited to have a framed photo or canvas from your session displayed in their house.
If you’re a college senior, now is the time to find your photographer before you graduate! If you’re in the Chattanooga or Cleveland area, head to my contact page and let’s schedule your session!
