May is such a gorgeous month to get married, especially when you plan it in the mountains of east Tennessee! Nicole and Damion celebrated their wedding with family and friends at Mountain Heights Venue in Soddy Daisy, just north of Chattanooga.
Nicole and Damion met through mutual friends via a recreational softball league in Houston, Texas. Damion works in the food industry in Chattanooga, so that doesn’t leave a lot of free weekends together However, when they do have the chance for a date night, they enjoy trying new restaurants and bourbon bars. Nicole also loves taking Damion to a baseball game!
When I spent time with Nicole and Damion during their engagement session downtown, I found out that they love to pick at one another and constantly aggravate each other. However, you can see their true and genuine love for each other. They are a couple who express their love by teasing one another. Nicole and Damion are both sarcastic, but very comfortable around each other.
Nicole started her wedding day by getting ready at a cabin down the road from the venue. I arrived to start shooting her wedding details. Most brides wear a traditional veil, but Nicole opted for a cape on the back of her dress. She also incorporated some pretty jewelry, even wearing a replica of the same necklace and earrings that Jackie Kennedy wore at a White House state dinner.
After Nicole finished getting dressed, we headed outside for the first look between her and Damion. I love when couples schedule a first look together – it gives them some special time just the two of them! After the first look and before the ceremony, Nicole and Damion had some couples portraits and we took all of the bridal party photos.
Nicole was excited that her dad brought his red 1952 Ford F100 pick up truck. I was too as I love classic antique cars. After their ceremony outside under the arch next to the lake, we had some special photos of Nicole and her dad in front of the truck. We also got some photos of Nicole and Damion posing in front of the truck.
Their reception was very laid back, with guests enjoying the food and drinks from the bar. They wrote special messages to the couple on little Jenga blocks. To finish off the evening, Nicole and Damion exited the wedding with a ribbon send off and a dip and kiss!
Congratulations Nicole and Damion! Your wedding was beautiful!
