The Gray Dove | Chattanooga Wedding Venue
I love how many wonderful wedding venues there are in the Chattanooga area! The Gray Dove in Chattanooga is no exception. This venue has a fun place for the guys to get ready, a small house just for the bridal party, and several locations on the property for the ceremony. No matter the season, The Gray Dove is a lovely location for your wedding day!
A Special Wedding Venue
The Cain Family purchased the farm in January 2015 and has worked to restore the farm to it’s former glory. This farm has truly been a labor of love for this family. In the pastures accompanying the farm, the family noticed that doves would sit in the tall grasses. Therefore, it was decided on naming the farm The Gray Dove. After many inquiries, the family finally opened it up to weddings and events.
When you rent The Gray Dove for the weekend for your wedding, you have access to the entire ten acres of property. This is convenient for the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner and gives you plenty of time for decorations. The bridal party can stay Friday night in the original 1920’s farmhouse and then get ready there the next day before the wedding. The wedding couple can also stay in the farmhouse after the reception. This is really convenient especially if you’re having way too much fun at your reception and just want to crash that night on the property.
The groom and his mates can stay the night before at The Fox’s Den. You can use this house for out of town guests if you wish. The guys can get ready the day of at the refurbished garage across the street. This part of the property comes complete with a full kitchen, pool table and arcade games, and large screen TV.
There are many places at The Gray Dove where you can have your ceremony and reception. One of my favorite places is in front of the outdoor stacked stone fireplace. This is a nice spot if you have a small wedding. It makes for a cozy and intimate spot when you plan a spring, summer or fall wedding. Your guests can enjoy cocktail hour while the chairs are moved to the open air reception spot next to the 100 year old barn. Another gorgeous spot on the property for a ceremony is down the hill. Your ceremony takes places in front of a very old and large tree. You can accommodate more guests in this location, and it’s a great spot to see the entire property.
The antique barn is convenient for when the weather is a bit colder and you want to have your ceremony and reception all indoors. There are so many places to shoot on the property for your bridal party and couples portraits. From the tall pasture, the large metal sign on the side of the barn, and of course the tree swing, the possibilities are endless.
