Spring is hands-down the most magical time of year to photograph a senior photoshoot in Chattanooga, and this session is proof of that. I was honored that Azairah chose me to capture her senior session to celebrate her last year of high school. She is a hardworking, hilarious, and genuinely talented young woman who is heading into her next chapter with ambition and a whole lot of heart. We spent a gorgeous spring afternoon shooting around Renaissance Park and near Coolidge Park for her Chattanooga spring senior portraits. We lucked out with the beautiful weather, and I loved how her session turned out!
After she graduated from Dade County High School, she planned to attend Chattanooga State Community College to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene, which suits her perfectly. She’s detail-oriented, she genuinely cares about people, and she has the kind of steady, focused work ethic that will take her far.
One of my favorite parts of a senior consultation is getting to know the person behind the cap and gown. I send all of my clients a thorough questionnaire so I can learn about their personality, style, and interests beforehand.
Azairah knew exactly what she wanted to wear, and her instincts were spot-on. She started with a short white dress and included her maroon cap and gown. The bold color popped against her dark hair and tan skin, and truly made her eyes stand out. Later during the photoshoot, she chose an orange flowy dress paired with some sandals. It was a great color that helped her pop from the green background of the park.
She obviously chose spring to schedule her session because it’s her favorite season. Chattanooga is such a fun place to be during this time of year, with the flowers blooming and all the green trees. Everything just feels fresh and alive. It was the perfect backdrop for her energy. To help her warm up to being in front of the camera, I brought a playlist with some of her favorite music.
For her Chattanooga senior session, we chose two iconic locations along the North Shore. Renaissance Park and the area near Coolidge Park are favorite spots among my seniors who like greenery and the outdoors. The combination of natural scenery, architectural interest, and proximity to the Tennessee River creates a stunning variety of backdrops without having to travel far.
We moved through open green spaces, shaded walkways, and small trails throughout the early evening. Every change of scenery brought out a slightly different side of her personality. She was confident and poised, but was also genuinely laughing in between shots.
If you ask her what her favorite memory from high school is, she’ll tell you without hesitation: traveling to the state championship with her volleyball team. That moment captures so much of who she is. Azairah is a teammate, a competitor, and someone who shows up and gives everything she has. That spirit carries into everything she does, and it showed in her photos.
When she’s not in the gym or on the court, you might find her tucked into a cozy corner of her favorite local coffee shop downtown, lost in a good book. She enjoyed reading The Wife Upstairs, which is right along with the type of mysteries that I read too. I added it to my list! She also loves channeling her creativity into painting and drawing. Azairah is, in every sense of the word, the best of someone. She is a talented athlete, creative artist, dedicated student, and good friend.
If you’re a high school senior ready to showcase your personality on camera, it’s time to reach out and book a date on my calendar. Whether you want to shoot in Coolidge Park, Renaissance Park, downtown Chattanooga, or somewhere completely unique to you, I’ll help you create a session that reflects exactly who you are right now.
Sessions can be tailored to your personality, your style, your hobbies, and your story. Cap and gown photos are always available as an add-on, and I work with seniors from schools throughout the greater Chattanooga area. Let’s work together!
