Red Truck Holiday Mini Sessions | Chattanooga Family Photographer

I have always seen this cute set up for mini sessions, but had never tried it before until now! I needed a new idea for my annual mini sessions, and I knew using a red truck and fun decorations would be a lot of fun! My neighbor had been restoring an old red truck, and I was able to take promo photos earlier this year. However, he sold it pretty quickly after it was finished and I had to find a new truck. In downtown Cleveland, we have a classic car meet up once a month. I found an owner of an old red truck, and it was the perfect car for my holiday mini sessions in Chattanooga!

One of my repeat families that I’ve photographed before returned this year as well as some new clients. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! It was unseasonably warm but sunny, so I knew that everyone’s family pictures were going to be really pretty. Everyone wore such cute coordinating outfits to match with the brightness of the red truck.

One part of my client experience is making sure all of my families know just what to wear. I ensure that everyone has a copy of my What to Wear Guide so they can coordinate their outfits together. This guide also advises against which colors to wear as they may distract from the background such as neon colors and outfits with logos. Different shades of neutrals are always the best colors, with some pops of color mixed in. Wearing layers such as jackets, hats and scarves are also a good idea.

When you photograph a lot of families, you know that most of them have small children and they can’t last for a full hour session. This is why I offer mini sessions during the fall and holiday seasons. A lot of my clients understand that it’s really important to document their kids growing up. Even if they can’t book a full session with me, they can get enough photos from a mini session to make some memories and send out holiday cards to family and friends!
